Quantum esXpress™ backup software combined with a Quantum DXi®-Series data deduplication system provides a comprehensive and scalable, yet easy to use data protection solution for VMware® environments. This revolutionary data protection solution utilizes the virtual environment itself to back up more data in less time. Quantum esXpress backup software dynamically creates high-availability virtual appliances for protecting VMware virtual infrastructures and data. esXpress employs “virtual backup appliances” (VBAs)—small virtual machines—to perform autonomous, fault-tolerant backup and restoration of the virtual environment directly to a DXi-Series system without the use of a proxy server or software, with minimal impact to VM server, console or network performance. In addition, it scales easily across the entire virtual infrastructure.
